Spring time is upon us, and I wanted to take a minute and remind the deer hunters out there the importance of establishing and renewing mineral sites for your deer. The QDMA recently published an article by Brad Howard and Brian Murphy, who are both wildlife biologists from VA, and they hit some very key points. These points include the fact that antler growth is triggered by the increase in the length of daylight hours and that this is a 5 to 6 month process that ends with velvet shedding.
